A Safe Pair of Hands

EcoÉireann is passionate about providing our team with a safe, healthy and happy working environment, and assuring our clients of the high standards we work to.

As a registered Irish branch of EcoNorth Ltd, we share all the same policies, procedures and insurance levels, the details of which are outlined below.

Health and Safety Policy and Procedure

Our Health and Safety system is fully ISO 45001 certified, having been independently verified by British Assessment Bureau, demonstrating to staff and clients alike that we are a safe and caring company, legally compliant and committed to continually improving our systems and practices.

Furthermore, we are fully certified by Acclaim Accreditation, which confirms our ability to carry out work safely and to the standards required under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. Acclaim Accreditation is a member of ‘Safety Schemes In Procurement’ (SSIP), which is an umbrella organisation for stage 1 health and safety assessment schemes. SSIP is recognised by a large and growing number of buyers within the construction industry. We are a registered supplier with Constructionline, the UK’s leading procurement and supply chain management service, and hold gold level membership credentials.

All projects are subject to rigorous  activity and site-specific risk assessments and are updated in the field as and when new risks are identified.

Quality Policy

EcoNorth’s Quality Policy sets out our robust approach to ensuring a high level of quality is demonstrated across all our working practices. Specifically, we follow clear quality control procedures and every document produced, including maps and target notes, goes through a three-stage process including a technical review by a Senior Ecologist and final sign off by the Executive Director or Technical Director. EcoNorth originally achieved ISO 9001 certification in April 2022 and continues to successfully maintain this.

Insurance Policies

No matter how large or small your project is, we understand that development can be a risky business which is why we ensure we have an appropriate level of insurance to put your mind at ease. EcoNorth is insured for £10 million public liability, professional indemnity and employers liability.

We maintain a robust internal set of further policies and procedures that  ensure our team conduct their work safely and in an effective professional manner. If you would like further information then contact us.

Integrated Management System Manual

This manual has been written to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001: 2018 and ISO 14001: 2015, and uses the Plan, Do, Check and Act approach to process planning.

The manual describes the structure of EcoNorth’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and documents EcoNorth’s policies and systems for the management of our quality, H&S and environmental performance to allow the organisation to improve our practices. This in turn enables us to better satisfy the needs and expectations of our customers, stakeholders and other interested parties, to familiarise them with the control measures that have been implemented, to provide assurance that the integrity of our IMS will be maintained, and to demonstrate that we are focused on customer satisfaction, safe working practices, environmental sustainability and protection, and continual improvement.
